Tips for the Vegas Visitors

Every year almost 40,000 people travel to Las Vegas for conventions, weddings, bachelor & bachelorette parties or just a regular old good time. After living in Vegas for over a decade, I realized that most people come to our illuminated city prepared for the nightlife, the gambling, the parties and the food. Very few are ever ready for the climate. Don’t get me wrong, I love this town. Vegas is an amazing city overflowing with life, lights, and energy, this is merely a chance to drop some knowledge on any soon to be brides, future wedding guests and every day tourist. Over the years I have had plenty of family and friends visit all thrilled with the experience but all also complained about the same thing…moisture- or the lack there of. Here are some of the most important tips and tricks that will help from head to toe.

Make sure to pop into a grocery store to pick up plenty of drinking water. Staying hydrated is going to make you feel better from the inside out. Not getting enough water can make you feel puffy and retain water. Puffy eyes and puffy body are no fun on vacation. Which leads me to my next trick.

  • For puffy eyes, pack 2 black tea bags and soak in ice water for 5 minutes then placed on the eyes, lay back and relax. It takes away any puffiness and firms the eye area within 10 minutes.
  • While on the topic of eyes if you find that your eyes are a little dryer, grab a bottle of natural lubricating eye drops. I like Similasan the best.
  • Comfortable shoes and a good foot cream people do so much more walking than they expect because there is just so dang much to see!
  • Your hair may take a beating between the un and the pool so pick up some hair hydrating mist and a leave in conditioner. I use Wen, but any brand will help give hair an added bit of moisture.
  • Sun screen for face and body. Especially of you are attending an outdoor wedding. I love Bare Minerals Touch up Veil, because it doesn’t add any color, just SPF and removes shine.
  • And finally a makeup setting spray, because you are probably going to party into the wee hours of the morning and still want to look fabulous. http://www.sephora.com/all-nighter-long-lasting-makeup-setting-spray-P263504
